Terms of Service
Please read these terms before using JoystickCheck. They are written to be as clear as possible.
1. Acceptance of the terms
These terms apply to your use of JoystickCheck (https://joystickcheck.com, the “website”), built and maintained by Kalana Sandeep and operated by Kalana Sandeep, an individual rather than a company (“we”, “us”). By using the website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
2. Description of the service
JoystickCheck is a free, browser-based gamepad tester. It displays button, D-pad, stick, axis and trigger readings, the reported mapping and available device details, recent input activity and events, and a browser-observed update-rate estimate, using the information your browser makes available through the Gamepad API. It only reads input: it does not send commands to your controller, change its settings or install software. It does not currently offer dedicated tests for stick drift, vibration or rumble, battery health, input latency or hardware polling rate. The website has no accounts, payments or uploads. It has a contact form for sending us messages (see the Privacy Policy for how messages are handled).
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the website in a way that breaks any applicable law;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or the systems that host it;
- disrupt or overload the website, including through automated requests at an unreasonable rate;
- copy or republish the website’s content or design as your own;
- use the contact form to send spam, advertising, threats, abuse or unlawful content, or to send messages in bulk or by automated means.
4. User responsibility and controller-testing limitations
Readings depend on your browser, operating system, drivers, connection type and controller. We can’t guarantee that every controller or browser is supported, or that readings are complete or error-free. Results are for general information only: they don’t certify that a controller is free of faults, they don’t diagnose every problem and they are not a professional assessment. Don’t rely on them alone for repair, warranty, return or purchase decisions; check with the manufacturer or retailer. You are responsible for how you use the results and for the care of your own devices.
5. Intellectual property
The website’s text, design, logo, illustrations and code are the work of its maintainer unless stated otherwise, and may not be copied or reused as your own without permission. You may link to the website freely. Xbox, PlayStation, DualSense, DualShock, Nintendo Switch and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to describe compatibility, and JoystickCheck is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.
6. Third-party services and external links
The website is delivered by a third-party hosting provider, contact-form messages are passed to a third-party email delivery service, and the website may link to other websites, such as technical references and the maintainer’s public profiles. We don’t control third-party services or sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices. Our Privacy Policy explains what information is involved.
7. Availability and changes to the service
We aim to keep the website available, but it is provided free of charge and may be unavailable, changed, suspended or discontinued at any time without notice, in whole or in part.
8. Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website, including decisions made based on its results. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or affects any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
These terms, and any dispute about your use of the website, are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. This does not remove or limit any mandatory consumer protection or other rights that apply to you under the law of the place where you live, and it does not stop you from relying on those rights.
10. Changes to the terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed. If you keep using the website after an update, you accept the updated terms.
